DIFFERENT AGES, DIFFERENT SPORTS

Children are likely to show natural preferences for specific sports or activities. At CISN, we keep children's age, maturity, and abilities in mind, and provide a variety of age-appropriate activities for our students, especially at the elementary level.

AGES 2 TO 5

As toddlers and preschoolers are beginning to master many basic movements, they are too young for organized sports, but flourish by doing physical activities which allow them to explore physical capabilities and boundaries. For this, unstructured free play is usually best. This may include:

  • Running

  • Hopping, skipping and jumping

  • Tumbling

  • Throwing and catching

  • Swimming

  • Riding a tricycle or bicycle

  • Climbing on playground equipment

AGES 6 TO 9

As children develop, they consolidate their vision, attention spans and motor coordination skills. They are also better able to follow instruction. Carefully supervised strength training appropriate beginning at age 7 with a focus on technique and movement. Sports and activities that may be appropriate for this age group include:

  • T-ball, softball or baseball

  • Soccer

  • Running

  • Gymnastics

  • Swimming

  • Tennis

  • Martial arts

  • Dancing

  • Jumping rope

  • Rollerblading or ice skating

  • Hiking

  • Skiing

AGES 10 TO 12

At this age, most children have developed good eye-hand coordination and the ability to understand and recall sports strategies and rules. They are ready to take on more complex sports, such as football, basketball, golf, and volleyball. CISN's professional PE teachers and coaches provide support advice and motivation to encourage pupils in their athletic development.

FUN PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AT CISN

At CISN, we carefully design our curriculums in the PE program and build specialized fields and playgrounds both indoor and outdoor for children to have fun playing and exercising.

PLAY-BASED ACTIVITIES

Enhanced play is one of the best ways for kids to explore the world, especially for kids under the age of 5.

All forms of physical play equipment are available at CISN. There are seesaws, sandpits, climbing walls in both indoor and outdoor play areas. Children are encouraged to explore these safe and fun areas freely to strengthen their coordination, balance, and flexibility.

STRUCTURED EXERCISE

Structured exercise, also known as class or team sports help children to develop specific skills in gymnastics, soccer, or swimming. These sports can help to boost confidence and develop social skills.

Our campus houses a special outdoor sports field and a mini aerial playground. These facilities can host a variety of sports, such as baseball, basketball, golf, football, volleyball, badminton, and tennis. Our customized artificial turf meets FIFA quality, and children can play soccer safely and happily here. Our non-toxic elastic track is an excellent place for students to run, compete, and play freely.

TEAM ME UP!

Players learn the basics of each sport and participate in fun activities designed to provide a deeper appreciation for each game and spend plenty of time performing drills and competing against their classmates. This course is appropriate for beginner and intermediate level sports stars.
