Concordia Kindergarten White Dew | Infiltrate Traditional Culture

14 Sep 2023

The wise ancients turned a year into twenty-four "solar terms", which echoed nature and were consistent with perception. The four seasons flowed and began again and again. In Concordia Kindergarten, we have enriched, optimized and extended the kindergarten-based curriculum, with the purpose of inheriting traditional Chinese culture, taking into account natural education, aesthetic education and food education, using cultural creativity, farming creation, food creation and art creation as carriers to let Children learn through practice, cultivating their qualities of diligence, sensitivity, interest in research, and inheritance.

On the day of Bailu solar term, the children of Concordia Kindergarten carried out an interesting exploration. According to the children's age and cognitive characteristics, teachers use vivid and vivid videos, pictures and other forms to guide the children to understand the characteristics of Bailu solar term and understand the relationship between solar terms, weather and farming. Through the teacher's vivid explanation, the children knew that the white dew had arrived, the temperature began to drop, the weather turned cooler, there was dew on the grass and trees in the morning, and the season changed from summer to autumn, and they visually understood the true meaning of "white dew".

Drinking Autumn Tea with White Dew and Tasting Culture

There is a saying among the people that "spring tea is bitter and summer tea is astringent. If you want to drink tea, you will get white dew in autumn". Under the guidance of the teacher, the children in the small class transformed into little tea tasters. Through entertaining and educating, the children made their first attempt at exploring tea culture and tasted the traditional culture on the tip of their tongues.

Demonstrates harmony without difference

At Concordia Kindergarten, we implement the concept of blending Chinese and Western cultures and combine a variety of creative forms to help children develop a strong interest in traditional culture and find more cultural confidence. The Bailu event also included calligraphy and catwalk. The practice of calligraphy is conducive to the development of physical and mental health and develops good behavioral habits of concentration and perseverance. This activity focuses on cultivating children's interest in learning and exercising the development of children's small muscles. It allows children to discover the charm of calligraphy through free exploration and mobilize children's enthusiasm and initiative. Let children feel the beauty of calligraphy through their senses, let them feel the calligraphy environment through vision, and feel the quiet and soft atmosphere brought by music through hearing.

Chinese rituals and music, colorful clothes in prosperous times. "Clothes" are one of the carriers of inheriting excellent culture. Children dressed in different styles of classical costumes presented us with an "ancient costume catwalk event". While enjoying the beauty of classical culture, they also truly felt the breadth and depth of Chinese traditional culture.

Spring blooms and autumn brings fruit, cold comes and summer comes. Use nature to transform emotions, use folk customs to understand the roots, and use poetry as the heart. Concordia Kindergarten will continue to be based on traditional culture. Let education happen naturally.
