PRIMARY SCHOOL

Aligned with the philosophy of the IB, our primary students are nurtured to become inquiring, knowledgeable, caring young people who are motivated to succeed, while also encouraging and supporting their peers to succeed along with them. In our primary school, children continue to develop their lifelong love of learning, pro-actively moving forward with our unique, child-centered approach to learning and development. Our curriculum delivery is transdisciplinary, meaning that learning in each subject is relevant and related to each other via a core theme, strengthening our children's learning and confidence along the way, as they learn by inquiry, making sense of themselves and the world they live in together. Furthermore, our children achieve bilingualism and strengthen their use of language as a powerful tool for learning, support and self-expression. They learn to appreciate the importance of taking responsibility for themselves and their own learning, as well as the value of working with others in collaborative teamwork.

The primary program at CISN provides a comprehensive and student-centered learning environment for all our primary years students. Our program inspires intellect, creativity and diversity, which enables each child's spiritual and moral character to flourish academically and socially. Our program incorporates a Chinese program, co-curricular activities, and community involvement to encourage an international perspective and global citizenship.

We focus on project-based learning and transdisciplinary approaches at all grades to support the development of problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Assessments are conducted in each of these content areas.
