Parents' Emotions are the Soil 

for Children

A parent's emotional stability can give a child a sense of security, but Amy shows us in another way that adults can have "negative" emotions too.

You don't always have to hide your 'loss' or show your 'perfection'.

Children are much more sensitive to emotions than we think. As an adult,  it is important to respect your child, lower your short-term expectations, examine conflicts, sort through emotions, and take responsibility for your own emotions.

There is an 'ABC theory' in emotion management, which means that to change emotions, what we have to do is not to change external events, but to change our own perceptions, especially irrational and distorted perceptions.



Absolutes like 'you must come first in the exam', 'the standard answer is', 'you can't let yourself fail the exam' are all irrational. 



At Concordia, we don't have standard answers and every child has the right to express themselves. We are not afraid to make mistakes, we are 'brave' enough to make mistakes and be the master of our own emotions.

Character Strengths

Parenting is not about correcting their weaknesses and mistakes, but recognising and nurturing their strengths. Positive psychology asserts that a child's strengths are hidden in 24 character traits. 


Character strengths are a source of well-being, promoting an individual's self-awareness and sense of self-worth, and increasing an individual's sense of fulfilment and happiness.

Happiness is also a subjective experience that separates children from each other. Positive psychology practices positive education, which has an unparalleled positive impact on a child's physical and mental health, character development, talent fulfilment, life value building, and the ability to perceive happiness.

Vanessa Chen leads parents through character tests such as concentric circle activities, happiness ranking questions, and so on. 


We take a step-by step approach to help children develop a calm, positive, optimistic and positive mindset through positive education, and discover that the process of shaping a child's personality is an interaction of strengths, interests and talents, which unknowingly leads to the development of "other people's children".

At Concordia, we have a rich social-emotional and extracurricular CCA programme in addition to our school-based curriculum. This March, we will continue this love and warmth by presenting them with a charity art exhibition for the whole community. Every Concordians have the opportunity to express themselves and improve their expression and personal charisma in different activities both inside and outside of school.
