13 Feb 2025

Dear Primary School Parents,

I hope this message finds you well and that you and your families enjoyed a restful and joyful holiday. As we begin the new semester on Thursday, 13th February, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you all back to school and share my excitement for the months ahead.

A Special Welcome to Our New Families

We are especially delighted to welcome the new families joining our school community this semester. Starting at a new school can feel like a big transition, but we want you to know that you are now part of a warm, inclusive, and supportive environment. We encourage all returning families to extend kindness and friendship to help our new students and parents settle in smoothly.

Embracing the Year of the Snake

As we enter the Year of the Snake, we are reminded of the values of wisdom, adaptability, and perseverance—qualities that resonate deeply with the IB philosophy. Just as the snake sheds its skin to grow, we encourage our students to embrace challenges, take risks in their learning, and reflect on their progress.

  • Be Thinkers – Snakes are strategic and observant, just like our students when they ask

  • meaningful questions, analyze information, and make connections in their learning.

  • Be Reflective – The snake’s ability to adapt reminds us that reflection helps us grow and

  • improve.

  • Be Risk-Takers – As snakes move confidently into the unknown, we want our students to

  • be courageous in exploring new ideas, trying new experiences, and learning from mistakes.

A Semester of Inquiry & Growth

As an IB PYP candidate school, we focus on inquiry-based learning that nurtures curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love for discovery. In the coming months, our students will investigate thought-provoking concepts, develop key ATL (Approaches to Learning) skills, and take meaningful action based on their learning. Whether exploring how the world works, expressing themselves through the arts, or finding ways to make a positive impact in their communities, we are excited to see our students grow in knowledge, confidence, and character.

Building a Supportive Learning Community

As always, we value the partnership between home and school. Your support plays a vital role in your child’s educational journey, and we encourage open communication and collaboration. If you have any questions or need assistance as we begin this semester, please feel free to reach out.

Thank you for being part of our learning community. We look forward to a semester filled with growth, excitement, and achievement for all our students.

Wishing you and your family a wonderful Year of the Snake!

Warm regards,
